Bass update: Tom Hyatt’s departure

Posted on February 5, 2020February 5, 2020 By Alan

Advent is very sorry to announce that, due to recently updated personal circumstances and corresponding time constraints, bassist Tom Hyatt has decided to leave the band. It has been an immense pleasure, both musically and personally, working with Tom and we thank him for bringing Advent’s live show to one of its tightest and most energetic levels in our 30-year history.

Tom has additionally asked us to share the following: “I would like to relate that it was humbling and rewarding experience and that I was honored to play with the most extraordinary and modest musicians I ever had the pleasure of working with—and that it was also an invaluable learning experience that will inform my playing for years to come.”

We wish Tom all the best with his future endeavors and he will always remain a dear part of the Advent family.

P.S. Given the situation, Advent will be starting the process of recruiting a new bassist imminently.

Advent interview on WRUW today (around 1 PM EDT)

Posted on July 4, 2019July 4, 2019 By Alan

We hope you’ll tune in to WRUW FM91.1 (local to Cleveland, Ohio, but with streaming available worldwide by clicking here) from noon-2 PM EDT today, as Laura Peskin will be airing the first part of a rather long and detailed interview with Alan, Henry, and Mark, discussing all things Advent–on her great Quest for Fire program. (The interview will most likely air toward the middle of the show, starting around 1 PM EDT, but we think you’ll enjoy listening to her entire program if you’re able.) Thanks very much, Laura, for the great interview!
