Advent is very pleased to share this new live video performance of “Sentinel’s Reprise: The Exit Interview”—recorded at the NJ Proghouse “20th Anniversary Fall Hootenanny” festival just a little over three months ago. Once again, we absolutely loved performing for this wonderful festival and extend a most heartfelt thank-you to the NJ Proghouse and everyone that came out to listen.

Advent seeking talented bassist ASAP!
Advent is looking for an accomplished bass player to resurrect our full-band configuration. Some of the most desirable skills/talents for potential candidates include vocal abilities (backing OK), comfort with odd time signatures/time signature changes, and the ability to read music. Multi-instrumental capabilities are also a big plus. The band’s recent live shows have been tighter than ever and we’re also working on new studio material—and all we need is a new bassist to complete the group’s lineup.
For additional information and/or to arrange for an audition, please contact Alan Benjamin at alan@adventmusic.net. Thanks very much!
Bass update: Tom Hyatt’s departure
Advent is very sorry to announce that, due to recently updated personal circumstances and corresponding time constraints, bassist Tom Hyatt has decided to leave the band. It has been an immense pleasure, both musically and personally, working with Tom and we thank him for bringing Advent’s live show to one of its tightest and most energetic levels in our 30-year history.
Tom has additionally asked us to share the following: “I would like to relate that it was humbling and rewarding experience and that I was honored to play with the most extraordinary and modest musicians I ever had the pleasure of working with—and that it was also an invaluable learning experience that will inform my playing for years to come.”
We wish Tom all the best with his future endeavors and he will always remain a dear part of the Advent family.
P.S. Given the situation, Advent will be starting the process of recruiting a new bassist imminently.
