Advent is honored to be returning to the NJ Proghouse stage once again, this time to kick off a two-day festival in celebration of the organization’s 20th anniversary of hosting the best in live progressive music here in New Jersey. It will also be Advent’s live debut with new bassist Tom Hyatt, as well as the band’s first live appearance since the release of Silent Sentinel back in the summer of 2015.

The festival is being hosted on the weekend of June 15-16, with Advent opening up at 11 AM the first day. For more information about the event, including the full lineup of great NJP alumni playing throughout the weekend, please see the NJ Proghouse website. Tickets now on sale here.

Please join us in welcoming bassist Tom Hyatt into the Advent fold! An amazing musician and all-around great person, who many will probably know from his outstanding work with echolyn and Valdez, it’s a great pleasure having Tom on board. We couldn’t be happier and are looking most forward to what the future will bring with our newly energized full-band lineup!

Around the beginning of this year, while in the midst of working on Advent’s upcoming new single (which we hope will be finished early this coming year), Alan Benjamin was invited to contribute guitar work for a nearly 12-minute track on the second album by the Italian group/project Ellesmere. The tune is called “Marine Extravaganza” and, a week ago today, Ellesmere II – From Sea and Beyond, was officially released (on the AMS label in Italy). In addition to the very talented core members of the project, other notable guest performers on the release include Brett Kull, Davy O’List, David Jackson, Trey Gunn, and Robert Berry.
